Part of a Larger Series about the Love of God

This panel is the third panel from a three-piece painting called Three Wooden Crosses. It shows a distant view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the French Broad River in the Appalachian region of North Carolina.

The Christian man who commissioned this piece asked me to include a field of Burley tobacco, which is a traditional crop grown in this area, and a part of the region's heritage. Also hidden in this panel are a pair of mourning doves which represents the sacrifice which Jesus Christ made for us.
