Shipping, Returns, and Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in buying my work!
This page covers my shipping and return policy for the items available on this site.
How long will it take my order to ship?
Prints
Your print is custom-made when you order it. This is easier on the environment and helps keep costs low, since we only print what we need.
Happily, most items are created within 1 to 3 business days of your order! Occasionally during times of high demand, it may take up to 6 business days.
Once the item is created, it may take up to 6 additional days to arrive at your home. This depends on the carrier. You're always welcome to check in with me and ask what the status is.
Originals
If you purchase an original and live nearby, I'll contact you within 2 business days to arrange a delivery date. If the item is currently on display in an art show, it may be delivered after the show. In that case, I'll make this clear on the purchase page. Otherwise, items will be crated and shipped by a carrier after the show.
What if I want to ship something internationally?
You can't currently buy something internationally from this website.
But please get in touch with me via the Contact page, and I'll do my best to help you out.
What if I change my mind?
Sometimes art can seem like a big purchase, especially if you haven't bought it before. With that in mind, I offer the most generous return policy I can.
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, here is my standard return policy.
30-Day "Gallery Quality" Guarantee
Did you know that many higher-end art galleries let their patrons take art home with them for thirty days, and allow them return them for a full refund if they change their mind?
Although it comes out of my own pocket, I'm extending the same guarantee on my work. That's because I know that buying art is just like buying anything else: you have to see it in your own home to be sure that it's right for you.
If you decide to return a piece, please contact me within 30 days of purchase and I'll arrange a return. Be sure to use the contact form on my website; don't just send it back to the return address.
Also, be sure to save the original packaging and use it to return your item.
Exceptions to this policy may apply to some items, such as clothing. Details here.
Do you guarantee that your art will last?
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, I offer a Two Year "Heirloom Quality" Guarantee on my canvas art prints and my original work. (This doesn't apply to posters printed on paper.)
If you contact me within two years of buying my work and show me that it has faded or deteriorated due to manufacturing standards, then I will reimburse you out of my own pocket. I can make this offer because I'm careful about quality, and I fully expect that I'll never hear from anyone for a refund.
How should I care for my art?
For canvas prints and original works on canvas, clean the surface very gently with a soft cloth. If necessary, you can use a little water.
I recommend hanging all art that you cherish in a place where they're not in direct sunlight for a long time, and out of very humid areas like a bathroom.
How are original paintings shipped?
If you're buying locally, I'll often deliver larger works in person!
For long-distance buyers, or smaller works on paper, I'll arrange to have the art safely packed and sent to you.
Can I have your art sent to someone else as a gift?
Yes! Simply fill in the recipient's information in the "shipping" area.
How should I hang my new art?
Most art will be delivered ready to hang, with either a sawtoothed hanger or a wire attached to the back.
This includes canvas prints; even if they're not framed, they have what's called a "gallery wrap" and don't need a frame.
The exception would be unframed posters, greeting cards, etc.
