"Three Wooden Crosses" - An Appalachian Landscape for Christian Patriots

A three-piece landscape dedicated to the glory of God. Available as separate panels as well.

This painting was commissioned by a Christian friend who wanted to celebrate the beauty of our local Appalachian landscape while paying homage to the love of the Creator who made this wonderful world.

We had both lived near the same spot along the French Broad River, and we had watched the American Bald Eagles flying up and down the river the morning, so that was the most important element in the first panel. It adds a nice patriotic touch for my American collectors.

In the second panel, you can see a specific peak in the Blue Ridge range of the Appalachian mountains near Asheville, and since this is a Christian landscape painting, we agreed to include three wooden crosses on the top of the mountain.

The third panel depicts a distant view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with a field of the locally-grown Burley pipe tobacco in the foreground. Hidden in this panel are two mourning doves symbolizing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
