It shows a distant view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the French Broad River in the Appalachian region of North Carolina.The Christian man who commissioned this piece asked me to include a field of Burley tobacco, which is a traditional crop grown in this area, and a part of the region's heritage. Also hidden in this panel are a pair of mourning doves which represents the sacrifice which Jesus Christ made for us.

I began a series called "King in Winter and Other Stories" in the winter of 2023-24. This pencil study was one of the first images I created, and I really liked the sense of majesty that emanates from it.
