A Trio of Paintings in Praise of God
Includes three 8 x 10 canvas prints.Each panel is 0.75 inches thick.
Together these three panels depict an Appalachian mountain landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains and French Broad River near Asheville, NC. The composition shows the shadows of the clouds flowing over the hills while rays of sunlight shine on the river and trees.
If you look closely, you'll see a variety of small symbolic details in the painting, including an eagle (symbolizing God's majesty), three crosses on the top of the mountain (symbolizing the Crucifixion), and two doves hidden in the pine tree on the right (symbolizing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ).
There are also several homages to regional traditions, including a field of Burley pipe tobacco which was often grown on local farms, as well as a few small barns hidden on the hillside, and a small flock of wild turkeys.
